Sender ID basics
The sender ID (or SMS sender name) is a string of up to 11 alphanumeric characters that entirely replaces a telephone number. The feature’s primary purpose is to verify and legitimate the communication and thus confirm the message sender as a responsible party.
Sender Name Verification
In light of security considerations, we prioritize the validation of all sender IDs to ensure credibility. As a result, confirmation will be conducted solely during our office hours, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00 CET. To expedite the approval and registration process, we strongly advise selecting a sender name closely associated with your company name. For clients utilizing our SMS messaging services, kindly furnish a statement endorsing the use of their company names as the SMS sender names.
It takes about 2 – 3 government working days for approval. In some cases, the number of days may change due to various reasons.
Sender ID Restrictions
In certain jurisdictions, sending text messages with a brand name instead of a phone number may not be permitted. Authorities responsible for approving sender names in specific countries may require examples of intended text messages associated with a given sender name. It’s essential to note that the approval process for your sender ID could take up to one month in some cases, so advance planning is advisable. Additionally, there are content restrictions for SMS messages with sender IDs. For instance, messages related to cryptocurrencies are prohibited in Russia and China. In the USA, sender IDs can only be utilized to send codes.
